Liner notes
The second installment of our 2020 series, recorded November 21st and 28th of 2020. This was, of course, just a few weeks following the 2020 US Presidential election, and while the official results gave us reason for hope and joy, the on-going tension (as well as the constant stream of unsupported election-fraud claims and frivolous lawsuits) meant our feelings were still very complicated. Oh, and yeah, that whole pandemic thing was still going on.
It had definitely started to feel like things were going to get better eventually, but it also felt like they might get worse in the meantime. That emotional churn is captured in the songs on this album.
These songs were all recorded live, and they are completely improvised. There are no “takes” or rehearsed moments, nor is there sheet music or other written record. They are a document of something ephemeral, a moment, and a feeling, captured before it washes away forever.
